On Mother’s Day I have a  gathering of family and friends to celebrate all the women who help care for a child.  For me Mother’s Day is not just about a mother or grandmother.  It is about all the women who help raise a child – mothers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, sisters, friends, and teachers.  Growing up,  a child is influenced and guided by all the people surrounding them daily and even those they only meet once in a lifetime. Think back over your lifetime of the females you have come in contact with that have influenced your life in one way or another. Strong women, courageous women, giving, caring and nurturing, women with health problems or disabilities that did not get in their way of a living a full and happy full  life; women who are our heroes and our guides.  These are the women we celebrate on Mother’s Day.
